How it works
Five steps without leaving the house
You won’t need to take a day off or drive downtown. Everything below happens by video, phone or a secure upload link.
Step 1: A free video call
Half an hour with a lawyer. You leave knowing whether to file and the fee.
Step 2: Upload your papers
Pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements and any letters, through a secure link.
Step 3: Review the petition together
We share the screen and go through every page before you sign it.
Step 4: We file, you rest
Creditors are notified, and calls and garnishments must stop.
Step 5: One meeting, then the finish
We sit in on the trustee meeting with you, then watch for the discharge or the plan’s approval.
Before the first call
Have these within reach
None of it is required for the free call, but each makes the answer more exact.
Your last two pay stubs
For the means test.
Last year’s tax return
Or the refund amount, if you know it.
The scariest letter
A garnishment, lawsuit or sale notice.
A rough list of debts
Who, and about how much.
Step one takes half an hour
Free, by video, with one of our lawyers.
